Someone call a priest

I don't think I've posted many stories illustrating how wacky my boss is. Let me try to describe it to you: adult ADD with a dash of sassiness and a little bit of just plain strangeness thrown in. Here is a conversation we had recently. It struck me as awfully funny but hey, maybe I was a little punchy at the time.

Her: What file number is it?

Me: 66699

Her: Wow. [pause] 666 huh? Wow, that's like... a devil, and half an upside-down devil. No, wait, two-thirds of an upside-down devil.

Me (speechless at first, then laughing my butt off).

How do you beat that? I will never look at file numbers the same again.

As a duly Deputized member of the United Franteral Order of Equal Representationalists for All Satanists Worldwide (Or UFOERASW), I would like to formally register a complaint against the flippant and derrogatory comments by your supervisor regarding the Great Lord Lucifer.

Contray to popular opinion, there is nothing inherently evil in Beelzebub. He's actually a very nice man of strong moral character. Why, just the other day when He was kicking some old ladies out into traffic, He stopped to marvel at a lovely lone flower that was growing out of the pavement. In a world of cold hosility, Satan took the time to appreciate the finer beauty of this fragile flower, spending at least five minutes contemplating it before He went and set fire to the local orphanage.

I strongly suggest that your supervisor--and you--consider changing your view of the Dark Lord. Perhaps you should cease your narrow-minded perceptions of Him and realize that there are other, equally valid, viewpoints in life, of which Satanism is but one of.

To that end, though we find such prejudice as illustrated in your blog post distatseful, we would still wish to extend the pentagram of peace and invite you to attend our weekly human sacrifice ritual where you can see that, at the end of the day, devil worshippers are people too.

Sincerely,

A. Crowley, Esq.

Erm, hold your legal horses, Al. I don't see anything in that post that insinuates Herr Lucifer is evil, or anything remotely like what you're suggesting.

Go take a cold shower.

What scares me most about your boss's comment?

It's TOTALLY the sort of thing I would say.

So does that mean you'll be at the meeting on Tuesday? I need an accurate headcount so we have enough sacrifices for everybody.
